Enrique Vasquez

Enrique began his sports broadcasting career in 1992 as color commentator on the Houston Oilers Spanish radio broadcasts, serving in that role until the 1995 season. His experience as NFL broadcaster continued with a stint as play by play announcer for Fox Sports America's NFL game of the week broadcasts hi-lighted by his call of Super Bowls XXXI and XXXII to a cable viewing audience from Mexico to all of Central and South America. From 1998 to 2001, Enrique also served as color commentator on Cadena de Plata, the Dallas Cowboys International Spanish radio network. He also served as play by play announcer on the network for select preseason games.

The return of the NFL to Houston in 2002 brought Enrique back to the space city to serve as color commentator on the Houston Texans Spanish radio broadcast thru 2011. Since the 2012 season Enrique has served as play by play announcer and is also a regular contributor to houstontexans.com.

Since 2013 Vasquez has cohosted “Houston Texans Primero y Diez” on KTMD Telemundo Houston. The official Spanish language weekly TV show of the Texans that was nominated for an Emmy in 2015.

With Fox Sports America, Vasquez also served as Senior Producer and play by play man for the networks NCAA Men's basketball tournament including the first ever Spanish language game broadcasts during the 1995-1997 Final Four tournaments.

For five seasons starting in 2006, Vasquez also served as Senior Producer and host of Contacto con los Astros, the official Houston Astros Spanish language television program. The show was also the first spanish language program to air on Fox Sports Net Houston.

In 2008, Vasquez also served as producer for the first ever Houston Astros Spanish TV game broadcasts. The 14 game broadcast schedule was an original production completely in Spanish originating live from Minute Maid Park, home of the Houston Astros.

Vasquez has also hosted and co-hosted numerous radio shows through the years in the Houston market including, Deportes America, Voces del Deporte and The Babybull Show. He also served as Stadium PA announcer for the Houston Dynamo from '06-'08 and still serves as PA Announcer for select international soccer matches and tournaments at BBVA Stadium and NRG Stadium. 

Vasquez is a Radio TV and Film graduate from Sam Houston State University ('94).
